The world’s largest privately-owned vehicle armouring company, Streit Group sees Latin America as a new and potentially strong market for future growth – which is why the company will be exhibiting at LAAD Defence & Security 2013 being held from April 9th to 12th in Rio de Janeiro. LAAD is the leading event of its kind in the region, attracting over 720 exhibitors from around the world, and Streit Group will be taking full advantage of the opportunity with two of its most versatile APCs on display:
Representing a new generation of Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV), the SPARTAN can be configured in various models to support a wide range of military, counter-terrorism and police operations and has the off-road capability to cope with some of the most difficult terrains.
The TYPHOON is a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle offering up to STANAG 3 level protection against both blast and ballistic attack. Highly manoeuvrable, the vehicle is equally at home in urban, mountainous and challenging rural terrains.
Both vehicles will be on display in Hall 3, Stand R28 of the RioCentro Exhibition and Convention Center.

Scorpion is the new name for the Streit Group MRAP APC
Streit Group, the world’s largest privately-owned vehicle armouring company, today confirms that its revolutionary MRAP APC, formerly known as the Jaguar, has been re-branded and is now officially called Scorpion – a name that better reflects its all-terrain capabilities, including deserts. The result of an intensive R&D effort, the Scorpion is a fast-moving, agile, mine resistant, armoured command vehicle ideally suited to military applications. Its innovative modular design – with the engine and suspension mounted separately from the V-shaped monocoque shell – maximises vehicle performance as well as occupant survivability in the event of bomb blast. Indeed its crew compartment, with the capacity to carry up to six personnel, can be manufactured with a protection level of up to STANAG Level 111.The Scorpion is produced at the company’s Ras Al Khaimah facility in the UAE. The largest facility of its type in the world, Ras Al Khaimah combines design, R&D, manufacturing, testing, and storage capabilities on a single site.

Streit Group launches eight new vehicles at IDEX 2013
Held bi-annually in Abu Dhabi, IDEX is one of the most important tri-service exhibitions in the world. Streit Group launched no fewer than eight new vehicles at the event this year, which concluded on 21st February 2013.
The launch models include our Aircraft/Building Assault Vehicle, the Veran 6x6 Tactical Vehicle, the Scorpion, three new versions of the Typhoon (the Saudi, the 6x6 and the Independent Suspension variant), the Puma and, a brand new Riot Control Vehicle based on our Spartan platform. In addition to these product launches, Streit Group exhibited a further eight vehicles from its existing range. Of the sixteen vehicles in total that were on show at IDEX, 10 were put through their paces on the exhibition’s purpose-built demonstration track daily in front of a global audience of military buyers.

From 5th to 8th February, Streit Group will be exhibiting and demonstrating a range of its vehicles at International Armoured Vehicles 2013. Being held at FIVE in Farnborough, the IAV conference and exhibition is the leading international forum for the armoured vehicle community. The capabilities of Streit Group’s Spartan, Typhoon APCs and Toyota Land Cruiser 200 GXR will be fully demonstrated as part of the IAV Dynamic Vehicle Experience at the Long Valley Test Track while the Cobra and Cougar will be on display within the exhibition area.
Streit Group launches Aircraft Assault vehicle at Intersec 2013 Dubai
First of a series of new vehicle launches in 2013
Streit Group was delighted to receive an enthusiastic reaction to its prototype Aircraft Assault vehicle which was launched at Intersec 2013 on January 15th. With 990 exhibitors from 54 countries, Intersec confirmed its reputation as the most significant trading platform and networking event for security and safety professionals in the Middle East.
The Aircraft Assault vehicle represents the first of a series of new armored vehicles that will be launched over the course of 2013 as the company continues to expand its product portfolio. Built on a Ford F-550 base, it features the most versatile vehicle-mounted hydraulically operated assault ramp system ever deployed and eliminates the need for hand-carried ladders in the majority of tactical operational situations.
Designed specifically for use by Special Operations and Special Weapons and Tactic (SWAT) security forces, the Aircraft Assault vehicle is designed to carry a driver, team commander and up to 12 fully equipped operational personnel. Capable of rapid deployment, it can be used to execute multiple entry point rescue missions not only from modern commercial aircraft but also from buildings.
The vehicle amply demonstrates Streit Group’s commitment to designing vehicles that meet head on the real threats to life that each of its end user communities faces globally – and that commitment will be further demonstrated throughout 2013 as new vehicles are launched.
