It may not always be a headline issue, but the fact is that maritime security has never been more critical. From piracy in international waters to smuggling along vulnerable coastlines, the waterborne threats facing governments, security agencies, and humanitarian organizations are diverse and increasingly complex. At STREIT, our marine experts recognize that every mission on the water comes with high stakes. That is why we design and manufacture tactical and armored marine vessels built to meet the toughest challenges.
As part of the STREIT Group, a trusted global leader in armored vehicle manufacturing for more than 30 years, STREIT Marine was founded in 2018 to extend that expertise into the naval sector. Since then, we have continued to supply militaries, coastguards, NGOs, and private security companies worldwide with reliable, mission-ready armoured naval craft. Our philosophy is simple: we take no chances when it comes to saving lives.
The Rising Importance of Maritime Security
Maritime security is no longer confined to naval operations. Modern challenges demand versatile solutions. Whether it is combating piracy in critical shipping lanes, interdicting smuggling routes, or providing humanitarian aid in conflict and disaster zones, secure and dependable vessels are essential.
STREIT manufactures a range of armored and semi-armored tactical task vessels, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner for governments and organizations that require advanced maritime solutions. Our vessels are not just designed for transport. They are engineered to provide safety, stability, and operational superiority in the most volatile environments.
Our Marine Fleet
Patrol Boats
Our Patrol Boat (PB-850) is designed for maximum mission range, speed, and crew comfort. This vessel provides naval and coastguard forces with a versatile platform capable of rapid response, troop transport, and coastal defense. Its construction in HDPE and aluminum ensures strength, resilience, and reduced maintenance costs over time. The ultimate aim: maximum patrol boat security and proven landing craft resilience.
Landing Craft
The LC-12 platform was designed with functionality in mind. This boat is a 12-meter multi-purpose and special tactical task vessel. The vessel is manufactured from marine aluminum and is complemented by ballistic protection of armored shields. This vessel can be used for both patrol and intervention as it can be brought alongside other vessels or structures without fear of critical damage due to the protective foam fendering protecting the perimeter of the vessel.
The base vessel is a suitable commercial platform, while various add-on armoring configurations allow the vessel to be used in higher risk operations.
Airboats
The AB-950 Airboat is ideal for shallow-water environments where conventional vessels cannot operate. These craft are frequently used for rapid deployment during flood emergencies, disaster relief, and operations across swampy or marshy terrain. Their speed and agility make them invaluable for both military and humanitarian missions.
Barge and Support Vessels
Our B-850 Barge and other support craft expand logistical capability, ensuring supplies, equipment, and personnel can be delivered safely and efficiently, even in contested or hostile environments.
Mission-Specific Configurations
We know that no two missions are alike. That is why our vessels can be configured with a wide range of mission-specific systems, including:
- Deck mounting of crew-operated weapon systems
- Tactical boarding ladders
- FLIR thermal imaging cameras
- Integrated recording and wireless communication systems
This flexibility ensures our clients are equipped with platforms that align perfectly with their operational requirements.
Beyond Hardware: Our Commitment to Long-Term Security
Our responsibility extends beyond delivering vessels. We provide a comprehensive ecosystem of support designed to maximize client success:
- Training: Our team offers operator training to ensure safe and effective deployment of vessels.
- Certification: Every craft undergoes rigorous ballistic and impact testing, following internationally recognized standards.
- After-Sales Support: We supply spare parts, upgrades, and modernization packages to keep fleets operational for years to come.
Your safety is not a one-time transaction. To us, it is an ongoing commitment. By standing by our clients before, during, and after delivery, we ensure their missions are never compromised.
Trust Built on Global Experience
With more than 4.5 million square feet of manufacturing space and the capacity to produce 500 vehicles per month, STREIT Group has built a reputation as a reliable partner for governments and corporations around the world. Our marine division benefits directly from this legacy of excellence.
Today, thousands of STREIT vehicles are in service worldwide, including our marine fleet, which is trusted by:
- Military and special naval forces are conducting coastal defense operations
- NGOs delivering aid in conflict and disaster zones
- Coastguards patrolling territorial waters
- Security companies safeguarding assets and personnel
In one case, our patrol boats supported coastal agencies in deterring piracy in strategic shipping corridors, safeguarding international trade routes. In another, airboats enabled NGOs to deliver life-saving aid to flood-affected communities where traditional transport methods were impossible. These real-world applications demonstrate the life-saving value of STREIT marine solutions.
Armored Marine Vessels FAQs
What is the difference between a hovercraft and an airboat?
An airboat is designed for shallow waters and swamp terrain, powered by an above-water propeller. A hovercraft, by contrast, operates on a cushion of air, allowing it to cross multiple surfaces such as mud, ice, and sand in addition to water.
Can vessels be armored to different threat levels?
Yes. STREIT’s marine teams offer fully armored, semi-armored, and unarmored configurations, ensuring each vessel matches the operational risk environment of the client.
Do you provide international certification?
Absolutely. All STREIT marine vessels undergo rigorous testing and are certified according to internationally recognized ballistic and safety standards.
What kind of training and after-sales support do you provide?
We offer operator training, ongoing maintenance, spare parts supply, and system upgrades to ensure long-term reliability and effectiveness.
